Charmette Cynthia E. Bentley joined the Richmond Metropolitan Chapter in 1994. Charmette Bentley served two terms as Chapter President. She is currently the Chapter’s Parliamentarian. Under Charmette Bentley’s leadership, the Richmond Metropolitan Chapter hosted the 2002 National Convention, where several changes were instituted, and are now routine considerations in planning the schedule of convention activities, such as scheduling awards events on different days. Currently, she serves as National Parliamentarian.

Charmette Bentley is a West Palm Beach, FL native. She was valedictorian of her class at Industrial High School in West Palm Beach. She received a Bachelor in Science in Nursing Education, summa cum laude, from Hampton University, Hampton, VA, and a Master in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA. She worked diligently in her careers as a nurse and social worker, in states up and down the East Coast.
