Junior Charmette Program

The Chapter sponsors the Junior Charmette Program, which is dedicated to ensuring that young girls in the community receive training that will prepare them for their teenage years and adulthood. The Program stresses the importance to service to humankind and participation in activities that promote community pride, as well as cancer awareness.

Adopt-A-Child With Cancer Program

The Chapter sponsors a child who has a cancer diagnosis by providing support and encouragement to the child and family, to include birthday and holiday remembrance.

Cancer Health Forum

The Chapter sponsors the Cancer Health Forum in an effort to raise cancer awareness in the Richmond Metropolitan area. The Forum stresses the importance of annual physical examinations and tests for early detection, as well as provides information on preventive measures, and updates on cancer research.


Howard University Cancer Research Center

The National Mission of The Charmettes, Incorporated is to support cancer research initiatives at Howard University Cancer Research Center, Washington, D.C., which focus on, and address the disparities of cancers that disproportionately affect African-Americans. The Center's does research that effectively addresses proper diagnoses and treatment options for African-American patients.

American Cancer Society

The Richmond Metropolitan Chapter supports and participates in the various programs sponsored by the American Cancer Society, to include the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, and the Breast Cancer Health Forum. The American Cancer Society supports the Richmond Metropolitan Chapter by providing informational brochures and guidance, as needed.

Sisters Network

The Chapter supports and participates in the Sisters Network annual Breast Cancer Awareness Walk and Community Outreach program.

ASK Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic at the VCU Medical Center

The Chapter provides support to the ASK Program, which provides health care to children with cancer.
